HER MOTHER'S BONES
Lupine, ‘The Peaceful City’ had tarnished its reputation 15 years ago, but no one knew until today. Brilliant Detective duo, Joe O’Rourke and Adah Porter, both big city transplants who have moved to the small town of Lupine, respond to the call. Human bones have been dug up. They arrive on the scene to find 26-year-old Stella Reilly sitting in the dirt in the front yard. She has returned home to live during her first year of teaching, decides to do some gardening and uncovers her mother, Delinda’s, remains. Stella has always believed that she is unlovable because her mother left her when she was 10 years old. But now she discovers that her mom didn’t abandon her, she was murdered! As the neighbors begin to gather in the cul-de-sac to gawk at the spectacle, Joe and Adah get to work to solve the crime. Adah finds she must keep an eye on her friend and partner Joe, who has become smitten with Stella. Joe must prove that Stella’s dad, David Reilly, the prime suspect, was not the killer in order to win Stella’s heart. Complicating his job, he uncovers that David’s first wife also died suspiciously.
